Relax, don’t diet.

Are you:

  • Tired for no reason?
  • Having trouble getting up in the morning?
  • Depending on coffee to keep you going?
  • Feeling run down and stressed?
  • Dragging yourself through each day?
  • Craving salty or sweet snacks?
  • Struggling to keep up with life’s daily demands?
  • Unable to bounce back from stress or illness?
  • Not having fun anymore?
  • Experiencing decreased sex drive?
  • Simply too tired to enjoy life?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions you may be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue.

Stress related Adrenal Fatigue is so common that an estimated 80% or more of people in Western developed nations worldwide suffer from it at some time in their lives, yet conventional medicine still does not recognise, adequately diagnose or treat this debilitating fatigue and stress syndrome.

Dr. James Wilson Explaining Adrenal Fatigue On The Breakfast Show

Particularly now with the global recession now looming, we are living in stressful times, modern life is full of challenges: overwhelming stress from the workplace, relationships, social isolation and loneliness for others. A recent survey carried out in 2004 in the EU found that 90% of the respondents felt that stress in their respective countries is a major cause of illness. (WHO European Ministerial Conferences on Mental health. Helsinki, Finland 12 – 15 January 2005).

And according to American experts from the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research (MFMER) "Persistent or chronic stress has the potential to put individuals at a substantially increased risk of depression, anxiety and many other emotional difficulties".

With compromised adrenal function, conventional medicine only recognises Addinsons disease, named after Sir Thomas Addison, who first described it in 1855. Addison’s disease is life threatening if left untreated and can involve structural and physiological damage to the adrenal glands. People suffering from Addison’s disease have to take corticosteroids for the remainder of their lives in order to function. Luckily, it is the rarest form of poor adrenal function, with an occurence of about 4 persons per 100,000.

But what about people who suffer on a daily basis with poor adrenal function, who are not Addison’s patients? The result is that millions of people needlessly suffer decreased quality of life for long periods of time. Adrenal Fatigue is a common health disorder that can affect anyone who experiences persistent or severe emotional or physical stress. It is an important contributing factor in many acute & chronic health conditions.

Many people who have been helped by Dr. Wilson’s extensive research over 30 years into stress and adrenal fatigue previously have spent fruitless years and thousands of dollars going from practitioner to practitioner before recognising themselves in Adrenal Fatigue: The 21st Century Stress Syndrome.

One of Dr. Wilson’s patients had been to 37 doctors before she was finally helped by a doctor who knew about adrenal fatigue, and recognised her problems. More than a few have told us what a relief it was to finally see what they were experiencing in Dr. Wilson’s book and know they were not alone or crazy. It gave them a renewed sense of hope that they could be well again.

We are now pleased to announce that Dr. Wilson’s program is finally available to New Zealanders through many health-care professionals who specialise in treating the causes of stress and fatigue, not merely the symptoms.

This website contains much useful information about stress and how stress plays a role in fatigue and ill health. You will find many of the articles useful in your quest for optimal health and wellbeing. Stress, Adrenal Fatigue, Cortisol And Their Relationships To Cardiovascular Disease

Objective: To empower you the clinician to be able to understand the many faces of adrenal fatigue, how to do an initial interview, clinical examination, interpret the findings & follow-up visits for patients with AF. To show you how to best interpret adrenal stress pathology tests. To explain the link between AF and its relationship with CV disease.

Subject matter: The first part of the presentation explores the relationship between AF and Addison’s disease. The second part of the presentation reviews many different health conditions associated with AF, low cortisol and chronic disease. Dr. Wilson will cover the relationship between stress, adrenal fatigue, cortisol and cardiovascular disease, the world’s largest killer. The third section of the presentation in response to many requests from practitioners: "Dr. Wilson, how do I do a proper initial interview and clinical exam for adrenal fatigue." This year we are happy to tell you that your requests have been answered. Dr. WIlson will go through a step-by-step initial patient interview and examination with a live patient. You will learn exactly how to do an initial patient interview with an emphasis on AF and a demonstration of the clinical tests to do in your office. In less than 5 minutes, your clinical tests will allow you to determine the presence and severity of AF. You will also learn which lab tests to order, how to properly interpret laboratory tests and how to use the AF Questionnaire in conjunction with lab tests. You will also learn how to report your findings to your patient, how to explain the reason and use of each AF product, and how to use them properly. In addition, you will learn what to do on follow-up visits, and how to create compliance and continued satisfaction in your patients, even when they are NOT progressing to their satisfaction.

Stress And Integrative Cardiology

Objective: Understanding the clear cut link between stress and heart disease and how to best manage cardiovascular risks in your patients.

Subject matter: How To Reverse Heart Disease – the most common killer in the modern world. The vast majority are caused by atherosclerosis, which has a presymptomatic phase & clinical phase that is typically sudden and often catastrophic. It is common wisdom that once you have developed heart disease you are stuck with it. Although there is some truth in this statement, there are combined strategies that can stabilize, arrest and at times reverse the severity of the disease process.

Stress And The Heart – Living in the 21century has a profound effect on all aspects of health, and in particular the entire CV system. It is therefore vital to understand the critical relationship between our modern plague – stress, and heart disease. As humans, we were designed to wander the jungle in search of food, and the only stress was the acute stress of a kill or avoiding being something else’s dinner! Let Dr. Walker teach you the importance of the autonomic nervous system balance when it comes to not only the development, but also the management of heart disease.

Statins For All – I Think Not!Statin drugs to lower cholesterol are the most commonly prescribed drugs in our modern world. But, are they the miracle pills that many members of the conservative medical world would like us to believe? The benefits and potential harms of statins and their evidence-based position in the treatment of heart disease will be presented.
